JMoF 2027 Progress Report No. 3

2026.11.07 21:00

Information

Many of you have probably already heard that Ameba Ownd, the platform hosting our blog, the JMoF Channel, will end its service by the end of this year. We were actually preparing to move our blog, but this news came as a surprise, so we had to reschedule our plans.

Going back to 2020, we decided to cancel JMoF 2021 due to the circumstances of the worldwide pandemic of COVID-19. You might say it’s just an annual party-thing, and it’s hard to deny that. However, as we lost the things we held dear one by one, we reflected on how difficult it was—like a large puncture in something we cherish most.

We believe that was one arrow we shot in protest of the situations that depressed us. While we would not say that we have become popular content creators, we have managed to continue until now; of course, there have been many struggles along the way. Rest assured, you will be able to revisit our history in another place.

Our new blog is under development—from the coding. In the meantime, we will write our progress report on webpages using a standard template. Please stay tuned for the latest information; JMoF 2027 is waiting to take off from the new venue, Aichi Sky Expo.

Messages from Our Departments

Security & Volunteer Coordination

We’re continuing to develop security plans for the JMoF venue and surrounding area, working with the relevant organizations and others we’ll be coordinating with. We’ll keep preparing to ensure JMoF runs safely and everyone can enjoy themselves with peace of mind.

Since volunteer applications opened in September, we’ve received so many applications. Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has applied!!! We’ve now selected the items for the JMoF merchandise we’ll be giving to our volunteers, and work on the exclusive designs is underway. Look forward to it!

We know many of you may be unsure about volunteering because you also want to enjoy JMoF at its new venue. You can volunteer for as little as two hours in total over the three-day event! You can also change your application details (such as your preferred time slots) after applying, so please don’t hesitate to sign up!

Volunteer applications are open until Nov 22 (Sun.), 2026. For details, please see the “Volunteer” page on the JMoF official website. We look forward to receiving your applications!

Registration & Convention Store

Hello everyone! We’re the Registration & Convention Store team!

We’re busy preparing to mail badges in advance to pre-registered attendees living in Japan!
The pre-registration deadline (the end of the day on Nov. 8 (Sun.)) is fast approaching. If you’re planning to pre-register but haven’t done so yet, please don’t forget!

We’re also preparing for on-site registration and badge pickup, including planning the layout and how to organize the queues. We’re working hard to make your arrival as smooth as possible!

With less than two months to go until JMoF 2027, we look forward to seeing you all at the venue!

Event Programming

We here at the Event Programming team are preparing the various events for JMoF 2027.

We’re once again planning to wrap up JMoF with the Dead Dog Party! With the move to a new venue, we also need to develop new ways of running the party. We’re continuing to coordinate arrangements with the other departments involved to make this final celebration possible. Look forward to it!

Applications for the Japan Fursuit Creators’ Competition recently closed, and we had a record number of applicants! We’re delighted that so many people have shown an interest. The staff responsible are currently coordinating arrangements to ensure the competition runs smoothly. We look forward to seeing so many fursuits on the day!

The Kemono Story Contest is also returning for the first time in several years! We’ll be rebuilding the contest’s organizational structure in stages, so this time we accepted entries only in the short-short story category, but we hope this will help build even more enthusiasm for writing fiction featuring kemono!

The event schedule will be released soon. We’ll also be announcing information about events beyond those mentioned above in stages, so stay tuned for more updates!

Social Media

With less than 70 days to go until JMoF 2027, we here at the Social Media team have been sharing more announcements about the events planned for the convention. There’s still plenty of exciting content we haven’t announced yet, so whether you’ve already registered or are still deciding whether to attend, we hope you’ll keep an eye on our upcoming announcements!
