At every JMoF, we hold charity events to connect the support of our participants with the wider community. These events contribute to the host region and support animal protection and education. We also hold panel exhibitions, lectures, and other events to introduce these activities.
Charity
The furry/kemono genre we see today has taken shape in the form of illustrations, fursuits, music, and merchandise. It’s needless to say our passion comes from the admiration and respect we have for the animals we take inspiration from.
As Japan’s first large-scale furry/kemono convention, we want to send a positive message out to the rest of the community in order to continue the growth of our furry/kemono culture.
At JMoF 2027, we will support HDS K9 Aichi, a search-and-rescue dog organization that promotes a society where people and dogs live together in harmony. We will also continue our charity for Toyohashi Zoo & Botanical Park (also known as Nonhoi Park), as we did last year. Both organizations will also help us present panel exhibitions and lecture events during JMoF.
All money earned from the raffle tickets and part of registration fees will be donated to the charity. We are proud that this shared circle of friendships continues to expand with your support!
Search-and-Rescue Dogs HDS K9 Aichi
HDS K9 Aichi is a general incorporated association that works with search-and-rescue dogs to find people in need of rescue. It responds to requests for rescue operations across Japan. It also works to raise awareness of disaster prevention and preparedness in local communities and to promote a society where people and dogs live together and support each other.
Japan is blessed with rich natural environments, but it also constantly faces earthquakes, storms, floods, and other natural disasters. Search-and-rescue dogs and their trainers and handlers have played an important role in disaster response. In recognition of its contribution, HDS K9 Aichi received awards from the Governor of Aichi Prefecture in 2022, from the Minister of State for Disaster Management in 2025, and from the Prime Minister in Sep. 2026.
Note: Recipient of the 2022 Aichi Prefecture Award for Contributions to Disaster Prevention, the 2025 Commendation to Contributors for Disaster Prevention from the Minister of State for Disaster Management, and the 2026 Prime Minister’s Commendation to Contributors for Disaster Prevention.

Toyohashi Zoo & Botanical Park

Donations from JMoF participants are used for the maintenance and upgrading of the animal enclosures and park facilities in the following ways:
- FY2025: new animals welcomed (a pony, an aardvark, and a serval)

- FY2023-2024: improvement of the serval house
- FY2022: renovation of the kangaroo deck
- FY2021: improvement of the chimpanzee enrichment facility
